St. Mary’s CE School

Located in the heart of the village, St. Mary’s CE School offers a unique opportunity for school children to learn and appreciate the history of the Mill Bank village.

The school is rated Outstanding by Ofsted and has strong relationships with the local community. The school is regularly involved in village activities, including maintaining community areas and planting around the village.

St Mary’s CE School is proud of its Christian heritage. The school has close links with St. Mary’s Church at Cottonstones and believes in educating children in the core Christian values.

The Mill Bank Group has formed a strong partnership with the school which has produced benefits to children, staff and the local area.

The school hosts the annual Mill Bank Owl Hunt in the Summer. The Owl Hunt is a themed event with children from the school reciting poems and stories. Children and parents scour the village to find local owls created by the school and can enter an owl-themed quiz. This event provides education and entertainment for parents, children and villagers. It is a great source of fundraising and the event is always well received.
