Toad-ally Overwhelmed
This year we kindly asked for volunteers to support with ‘Toad Patrol’ during March-April.
The response was amazing and with your help we managed to save a huge number of toads! Charlotte has kindly totalled the figures for the 2024 season:
A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support this vital service to wildlife. These figures were only achievable with local villagers supporting the conservation effort.
The UK has legal commitments to protect wildlife, including amphibians like toads, under both national and international legislation (such as the UK Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981). Conservation efforts help ensure compliance with these laws, promoting biodiversity and protecting vulnerable species.
We will be trying to recruit more volunteers early next year to help with the rescue mission in 2025. If you’d like to join Toad Patrol next year register your email to receive our newsletters and to keep up to date with future events.
