Unveiling the Past on our Heritage Walk

Over forty people enjoyed the Mill Bank Heritage Walk organised by the History Group on Sunday 17th September 2023.

The walk focused on what the village was like around the turn of the twentieth century. Four members of the group led two parties round the village explaining how people lived, where shops and services used to be and where people had fun when they were not working in the local mills. This was followed by tea and delicious cakes at Gledhill Farm.

By popular request the History Group are planning another walk based at St. Mary’s Church, Cottonstones in 2024. The Group also hope to put on a small exhibition. If you would like to be included in a repeat walk around Mill Bank or the planned walk around Cottonstones get your name on the waiting list.
